Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police say initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the event," they added.
City officials announced they were working "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for tips.
A high-ranking political figure said the incident made him stunned and required to be solved promptly.
"This act affects the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, mentioning the death of nine victims by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in 2020.
