19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has had a difficult year, achieving just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from March of 2023.
Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 victories at 21 various events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.
His counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.
But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an better service.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the concluding five points to go ahead.
Both players traded break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to force a third set.
He defended 4 early break points in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
